Why Process Control Matters

A major contributor to premature spindle failure is the repair process itself. It is critical that the spindle repair facility you choose understands the need for maintaining exacting tolerances, attention to detail, and proper cleanliness levels. We take great care in the prepping and ultrasonic cleaning of all components, utilizing 3-micron “Absolute” filtration for all cleaning solvents. Parts are blown off with compressed air dried to a minimum dewpoint of -40° F and filtered with .08 micron "absolute filtration."

Why Cleanliness is Critical

This level of cleanliness is particularly important for open bearings, which are easily compromised by invisible dirt particles that can dramatically reduce their service life. If bearings are not handled with care, they can gradually deteriorate over time, a phenomenon known as “McPherson’s Curve.” At Atlanta Precision Spindles, we ensure all components are kept clean and dry from start to finish. We do it right!

Written Repair Certification

Our certification process provides a written record of your spindle's performance after repair. This includes running your spindle at its maximum rated speed and also at the speed you typically operate it. We perform a detailed spectrum analysis using the latest technology from Schenck-Trebel, the world leader in balancing and diagnostic testing.
